Prestige: Louis Vuitton unveils the fifth edition of Artycapucines

For the fifth year in a row, the Artycapucines has returned to steal a spot in the wearable art realm with its stunning designs, created by five leading contemporary artists chosen by the maison.

Louis Vuitton’s Capucines bag epitomises both beauty and timeless appeal. Since its initial launch in 2013, the bag never lost sight of its purpose to accompany women in their everyday lives, regardless of their styles and preferences. The bag, designed by Nicolas Ghesquiére, is named after the Parisian street Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, where Louis Vuitton’s first store was located in 1854. To preserve its identity and capture the bag’s versatility, Louis Vuitton announced the birth of Artycapucines in 2019, the first limited-edition iteration of the Capucines bag, featuring talented artists from around the world invited by the house.

The 2023 edition sees the Artycapucines in a similar but fresh light. Louis Vuitton has featured five contemporary artists – Billie Zangewa, Ewa Juszkiewicz, Liza Lou, Tursic & Mille, and Ziping Wang – to bring their creative visions to the Capucines. These five latest designs, limited to 200 pieces wrapped in specially designed boxes, become Louis Vuitton’s testament to the bag’s ability to unite artist talent with the ingenuity and craftsmanship of its masterful artisans.
