Les peintures récentes de Semaine Yang sont le produit d’une approche plus instantanée, basée sur le processus et globalement holistique. Travaillant sur une tablette, l’artiste est libre de transcrire son environnement physique et les associations sensorielles qu’elle évoque d’un seul geste. Ces topographies surréalistes sont chargées d’une certaine légèreté et immédiateté, es transformant du polar de la représentation pure en objets qui canalisent les odeurs, les goûts et la vie intérieure de l’artiste d’un moment particulier à un autre.
Galerie Marguo presents a solo show of Semine Yang’s new works. For over a decade, Semine Yang’s practice has been shaped by an interest in the natural world and our inextricable place in its ecology. The artist’s recent paintings are the product of a more instantaneously, process-based, and overall holistic approach. Working on a tablet, the artist is free to transcribe her physical surroundings and the sensorial associations they evoke in one fell swoop. These surreal topographies are charged with a certain levity and immediacy, transforming them from the plane of pure representation to objects that channel the smells, tastes, and inner life of the artist from one particular point in time to another.
