Galerie Marguo, Paris, and COHJU, Kyoto, are pleased to jointly present a curated selection of works by six artists—three from each gallery—at the 2024 edition of Art Collaboration Kyoto. This collaborative exhibition highlights the harmonies and tensions that arise from the artists’ diverse perspectives and techniques.
Galerie Marguo presents three artists: Oh de Laval (b. 1990,Warsaw, Poland), known for a satirical painting style that is both pop-inspired and subtly evil, reflecting the influences of mass culture; James Prapaithong (b. 1996, Bangkok, Thailand), who focuses on the narrative and linguistic aspects of landscape painting, veiling personal memories and stories beneath the surface; Fawn Rogers (b. 1974, Portland, Oregon) raises questions about contradictions and dissonances in civilized society, often using shells reminiscent of female genitalia as motifs.
