“I aim to express and examine some basic forms of human emotions. In a sense you could say that most of my paintings are just series of mistakes until they add up to something that works out aesthetically and emotionally...a lot like life itself.”
— Steingrímur Gauti Ingólfsson

“The process of making felt painting is my response to memory and its waning, which proves the unique temporal nature of painting itself.”

Feng Li's photos are all fortuitous encounters with the unlikely cast of reality that's taken center stage in his native city of Chengdu. He has an eye beyond the norm and a vision that detects the very spectacle of the mundane everyday. To Feng, girls in mini skirts, old ladies in fake fur, misbehaving kids, wandering homeless and all these characters on the street are in their own way playing different roles in this great fiction of ordinary life.
